Meet the organisations

The letters you send as part of the &Co. project will provide messages of support and kindness to people whose lives have been turned upside down over the course of the past year: elderly people, people with disabilities or people who receive support from a social service or nursing home. In recent months, they have felt more isolated than anyone else. They have not been able to see their family and have had to limit their leisure activities and even their freedom.

This project aims to give them back part of their social life by opening up channels of communication with the outside world, establish a relationship between equals –free of stigmas or prejudices– and simply help them feel part of society and have something of their own to take pleasure in.

In order to make the &Co. Mission possible, we are collaborating with the following nursing homes and social services:

Centro de Día de Badia del Vallès

This day centre provides a space for dependent elderly people who need support in their everyday lives. From Monday to Friday, they organise different recreational and stimulation activities that take into consideration their visitors’ tastes and preferences, to help give them the best possible quality of life.

Fundació Tutelar Santa Clara

This social service supports and protects the elderly and individuals with an intellectual disability living in the Maresme and Barcelonès Nord areas. Its main objective is to guarantee their rights and help them maintain the highest quality of life, so they can manage their day-to-day activities as independently as possible in their homes or residences.

ASTE BCN

This organisation strives to offer a better quality of life to the elderly through volunteer programmes with young university students. Through their collaboration with fifteen nursing homes in Barcelona, they organise activities to boost support, stimulation and self-esteem with the help of volunteers, by creating synergies between adults and young people.

Fundació Xamfrà - Sant Miquel

One of the Foundation's projects is to help individuals with an intellectual disability living at home, and help them live more independently of their family, or autonomously when their carers are not around. Thanks to this programme, they have the chance to regain their independence.

Residència Parc del Guinardó

The Parc del Guinardó municipal nursing home cares for elderly individuals who are unable to live alone. For them, the organisation is a home that loves and cares for them and a place where they can share their lives with others who ultimately become part of their family.

Fundació Acollida i Esperança

The Convent dels Franciscans Welcome Centre is a residence for people suffering from HIV or AIDS who feel marginalised, either due to lack of housing, economic resources or family support, and often related to problems of addiction. The organisation strives to boost their residents’ quality of life and their emotional, social and physical well-being.

Fundació Via-Guasp

This social service provides welfare for people affected by severe mental illness and covers their basic needs such as food, shelter, support and the protection of their rights. Some of them live in homes, others in sheltered apartments and some are hospitalised for health reasons. The organisation's main objective is to increase the independence of those in their custody and improve their quality of life.

Fundació Som Via - Avis en Família

This residential service for the elderly follows a management model that prioritises proximity, autonomy and joint decision-making, creating a real home for the residents. Everyone lives under one roof and shares the space, thus forming one big family.

Fundació Llars Compartides

The organisation offers dignified housing to the elderly. The project is based on managing flats in Barcelona so that elderly people with financial difficulties can live independently whilst sharing a home with someone in the same situation, minimising expenses, daily tasks and the feeling of solitude.

Llars Horitzó

The organisation offers dignified housing to the elderly. The project is based on managing flats in Badalona so that elderly people with financial difficulties can live independently whilst sharing a home with someone in the same situation, minimising expenses, daily tasks and the feeling of solitude.

Associació Coravis

This social service aims to enhance and improve quality of life for elderly people living in nursing homes, especially those with severe and very severe cognitive impairment, by helping to create moments of joy and boosting their well-being. They do this with the help of volunteers and by collaborating with other institutions.

Parc Serentill

This nursing home for the elderly is based in Badalona. It provides a space where residents can feel loved and supported in all their daily needs. They are supervised all day and share their lives with others who ultimately become part of their family.
